Romantic and Intimate Summer Wedding in Ireland – Castle Oaks Hotel – Caitriona & Enda

By MrsRedHead In Weddings

We wanted our day to be relaxed, romantic and intimate (thanks
Covid!)

We loved the setting, from the Castle Oaks Hotel itself, to the gardens and
the woods, down to the river side which we knew would be amazing for photos. The staff were
exceptional also, they did their absolute best to give us the day we wanted in the midst of the
pandemic.

Romantic and Intimate Summer Handfasting Wedding Ceremony in Ireland – Castle Oaks Hotel – Caitriona & Enda

From the first time we met Olga – MrsRedhead Photography , we loved her energy and felt that she understood the type of wedding we were planning.

On the day, she put us all at ease, with her perfect balance of fun energy and
blending into the background to capture each moment in a really natural way. We couldn’t recommend
her more highly to anybody planning their wedding!

We were delighted to have the chance to gather our family and friends together after
the pandemic lockdowns, and we wanted to make sure everybody was comfortable, so we
planned to hold as many elements as possible outdoors – maybe a bit optimistic in Ireland, but
luckily the weather co-operated and we got married on one of the hottest days of the year! It felt
like a destination wedding without having to travel!

We chose to have a humanist ceremony, so were
able to choose readings and music that we loved as part of our ceremony. We also had a salt
unity ceremony – now every time we cook we have a little reminder of our wedding day .

Our amazing cake baker Fionnuala included a little model of our dog Pippa in our cake which was
very special (not to mention the cake was delicious!). Pippa also joined us for a while after the
ceremony. We really enjoyed making her part of the day!

What made your venue “the one”?

Castle Oaks Hotel

What advice would you give to other couples planning their day?

Try not to stress too much
over the small details and things that are outside of your control (such as government
restrictions!) We planned our wedding during lockdown, and were determined to go ahead with
our original date, so found it important to remind ourselves of this regularly. Make sure you plan
to spend some time together on the day too, it goes by so quickly.
