Crazy Fun, Relaxed Celebration of Love Surrounded by All Our Favourite People – The Inn At Dromoland and Dromoland Castle Golf Club Ireland
Our wedding was a relaxed, fun celebration of love surrounded by all our favourite people.
It was a very happy joyful day.

” We wanted to have a day that all our friends and family would enjoy. We wanted it to be really relaxed.
We wanted to ensure our family and friends were all included as much as possible. Our main priorities were good music and food for our guests and a really good photographer. We wanted to include only the things that were important to us as a couple and to make it as personal as possible.
We included our family and friends in our day as much as possible.
We had our siblings as our bridal party. Both our Mum’s did our handfasting ceremony, read by a close family friend. We had two readings done by the bride’s cousins.
One of the most special moments was a ring warming ceremony at the start of our ceremony where our rings were past amongst our guests so they could place their wishes for us on our rings.
We also wrote our own vows which allowed us to read our own wishes and promises to each other. My Friend did my hair (bride) which was so lovely to have her as part of the process.
We had the privilege of Olga and Alexandra from Mrs Red Head Photography capturing our day.
We knew early on in the process that we wanted Olga to be our photographer. As soon as we set our date, we made sure we booked Olga straight away.
We loved her work; how creative she is. We loved her style of photography and how she captured more candid moments than posed photos.
When we met her, we really liked her, we got a great feeling from her and she was really nice to deal with.
We booked to have her second photographer Alexandra as well, she spent the morning with the boys and was great with them, she captured some really great moments.
Olga spent the morning with me and she was lovely, it was lovely having her there and she was really easy to be around. I also liked how she would show me little sneak peaks of the photos during the day.
When we got our photos back, we were blown away. Olga and Alexandra captured the day perfectly. They really captured the feel and emotion of the day and we are in love with our photos.
We couldn’t have been happier with them and will cherish the memories forever.
We had a bit of a roller coaster with our venue, we originally booked a venue but unfortunately that venue closed five months before our wedding.
We then had to go on a hunt for a new venue that was available on our date as everything else was in place for that date.
We contacted The Inn at Dromoland, we had been given lots of recommendations for this venue and it was close to my childhood home.
When we got in touch with Claire at The Inn at Dromoland she was fantastic and so helpful, we made an appointment to come and meet her in person and see the venue. We really loved how accommodating they were and how pretty the venue was. The packages are great, and everything is covered. You also have the bonus of the wonderful Louise from Grace Events included to do all the décor.
We booked that day and came back for a food tasting a few months later and we were blown away by the food, our guests are still taking about it. We had an amazing day and feel that everything worked out how it should have, and we were so happy to have had our wedding at The Inn at Dromoland.
We actually met online, on plenty of fish.
We didn’t meet in person for a few months but got on so well we decided to meet for a coffee as it’s hard to meet people in London. We got on really well, became friends first and it eventually turned into more.
What advice would you give to other couples planning their day?
We would advise people to enjoy the process it will be over before you know it. Enjoy all the small moments leading up to your day, all the planning and celebrations of your love.
Accept the help you are offered; we couldn’t have done it without all our wonderful family and friends.
Try not to sweat about the small stuff, there were things we thought were super important or a big deal and worried us sometimes but when it came to it, they didn’t matter.
Try and make the day as personal to you both as you can, don’t worry about other people’s opinions or what is supposed to be tradition, it is your day make it your own.
Try and take some time to be together on the day, it can be hectic, but you will appreciate all the little moments you can have.
Most of all just enjoy yourself, what will happen will happen things may go wrong or not to plan but try and not worry about it, there are people there who can help, you just need to focus on taking it all in as much as you can.
