We had the best day of our lives. Everything went so smoothly from the moment we got up and started getting ready to the snack boxes at the end of the night. The team on hair and make-up were fantastic and everyone was very relaxed that morning.

We had a cracker of a day weather wise which added to the party atmosphere right from the get go and we got some spectacular photos and video shots from a great day in the West of Ireland.

It was great to see the courtyard full of all our closest friends and family all enjoying the great weather, the games and a few drinks. The team at Hotel Doolin were fantastic and everyone really enjoyed the dinner…..especially those you went back for seconds.

We had a great experience with Olga as our photographer and would highly recommend her to any couples looking for a brilliant photographer.

Olga – MrsRedhead Photography – was great right from our first email enquiry. From our first meeting she understood we wanted the day to be very relaxed and she delivered on that 100%. Olga took us to some spectacular locations around Doolin including the Cliffs of Moher, the Pier and Doonagore Castle where we got some great shots. We also love all the photos from the Wedding Reception, capturing all the fun and excitement of the day.

Olga was very patient in taking many group photos and whatever she did to make the weather on the day so spectacular was beyond the call of duty!

Lisa & Ruth x

August 2016 – just before Ruth’s birthday at home in our House in Galway – our favorite place in the world.
Lisa was home from work before Ruth (she was late as per usual) and had a note on the front door “Open slowly”. When Ruth opened the front door the hallway was lined with tea lights leading into the kitchen and sitting room where Lisa was waiting nervously on one knee. We celebrated with Champagne and a take-away that night at home while busily calling friends and family to let them know the good news.

How did you go about planning your dream day?

Before we went looking at venues we chatted about the type of day we wanted, the vibe we wanted for our guests and ourselves and the flow of the day. After viewing a lot of venues we were really excited on our first visit to Hotel Doolin. Everything Donal was telling us was music to our ears it was everything we were looking for, they were amazing could not do enough for us and did everything they could to make our ideas come to life.

Did you have a specific theme? Why did you choose it?

Colourful & comfortable. We both love colour and wanted to make sure everything about our wedding was colourful and cheerful. We were also keen that all our guests were comfortable throughout the day.

Were there any near disasters/funny incidents?

Because the weather was so good everyone had their sunglasses on. As a result we kept forgetting to take them off for photos but at least it will remind us of how good the weather was that day.

What was the highlight of your day?

The weather and the time we spent with our guests as they gathered in Hotel Doolin before the ceremony was a highlight for us both. It was great to mill around and enjoy a drink with everyone before everything kicked off. It meant everyone was really relaxed.
