At this beautiful wedding in Doolin we experienced something completely different when Irelands own Emma wed New Zeland’s Mark. They were sent off with the very beautiful Haka .
Loved it!!
We met in an Irish bar called the Craic in Dunedin, New Zealand. I was travelling with friends and Mark was in his final year of University. One of my friends Sinead started talking to Mark and introduced us and the rest is history. We lived together in New Zealand for 4 years and moved to Oxford in 2014.
Mark took me on a surprise trip to Venice in June 2015. He proposed in a little restaurant by the canal. I knew he was up to something as he barely spoke to me the week before we went. He was afraid he would ruin the surprise.
The day was perfect. We did forget to cut the cake, but it worked out well as we just had it for the BBQ the next day. The speeches particularly by the fathers made for some interesting listening.
We just wanted to have a really relaxed day with simple decor. We met with Louise from Grace Events who did a fantastic job decorating the venue with lots of candles and pastel colours. As Mark is from New Zealand we wanted to incorporate some Kiwi elements into the day. We had Paua shells scattered on the tables and his friends did a great rendition of the Haka.
I think being from opposite sides of the world the best thing for us was having so many of our friends and family in one place.
We cannot recommend Mrs Redhead enough. The team were so brilliant we did not want them to leave. The photos are amazing and we could not have hoped for better.

- When we viewed Hotel Doolin we loved it. It was so relaxed and friendly and the packages on offer covered so much. We wanted to have our ceremony at the venue and also a BBQ the day after which was all offered as part of our package. As we were organising everything from the UK it made planning our day so much easier. We tried to get as much as we could organised as early as possible, so we could enjoy the build up to the wedding. We knew lots of people were travelling to spend the day with us so wanted to spend as much time with them as possible.

- I bought the dress in Kathy de Stafford in Nenagh. I actually went back there to try on another dress and I saw my dress. I tried it on and bought it that day, I just loved it.
